Zizia aurea, Koch. Golden Alexanders. Height 1 – 2 1/2 ft., glabrous and branched: basal and lower lvs. 2-3-ternately compound; upper lvs. ternate: fr. oblong, 2 x 1 1/2 lines. April-June. Fields, meadows, and swamps, New Bruns., Sask. and S. D. to Fla. and Texas.—A weedy-looking plant.
